About Cumin Seeds:

Cumin, one of India’s most popular and essential spices, is renowned for its medicinal properties not only in India but also in many other Asian countries. Originally native to the Mediterranean region, cumin is now predominantly cultivated in India, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, China, and parts of America. Thriving in hot climatic conditions, cumin is considered a seed spice.

India holds the position of the largest producer and consumer of cumin globally, with an estimated output of around 4,00,000 tons per year. Despite this, the seasonal nature of the crop and fluctuations in global demand and supply exert an influence on prices within the country. In India, cumin is sown during October-November and harvested in February, with the fresh crop typically entering the market in March.

Unjha in Gujarat serves as the primary trading center for cumin seeds in the country. The majority of our cumin exports are directed towards the US, China, UK, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, and numerous other countries.

Home remedies

In addition to its medicinal applications, such as aiding digestion, promoting nutrient assimilation, and contributing to the healing of stitches and pain, cumin seed and powder play vital roles as ingredients in various mixed spices, chutneys, chili, and curry powders.

Cumin enjoys global usage in a wide array of products, including food, beverages, liquors, medicine, toiletries, and perfumery. Furthermore, it is employed to address issues like broken, dilated, and split capillaries. Cumin’s properties as a stimulant, carminative, and astringent make it valuable in managing conditions like diarrhea and dyspepsia.
